Montblanc Individuel - Review

 The Versatile Cheapie!

Well… Here goes my first fragrance review on my blog Fragvice! I hope you all are having a wonderful day. When my fragrance journey started back in 2018, all I remember is the hours that I spent trying to find the best bang for your buck fragrance. I was still in college and some part of me just wanted to figure the things out in this subject. I knew that if I did some research, I could find some amazing fragrances at a cheaper price than your typical ambroxan/blue kind of fragrance. After watching tons of reviews, me as a broke college kid decided to buy the fragrance that started my passion for perfumes: Montblanc individuel.
Man, this was instant love at first sniff. The smell is very linear and pleasant through all of the duration of the fragrance. Nothing will trick you. what you smell at the opening is pretty much the same that you will smell in the dry down. Its very mass appealing yet unique enough to stand out in a room. It can be a little bit synthetic for a trained nose, but I would say its irrelevant. If you are looking for your all year all occasion first cheapie, this one is an excellent choice. Although, if you are looking for a fragrance and looking to learn more about this art form I wouldn’t suggest this one. Well, that´s because Montblanc individuel has a ton of listed notes and it will be quite hard to identify them. So, if you are that guy that is trying to learn more about what goes in a fragrance and what notes are what, I would suggest you picking fragrances with a simpler structure like the new Jean Paul Gaultier “Le Beau”.
If you are a simple guy that just wants to smell amazing and at an affordable price, this is your pick!
Montblanc Individuel, at my nose, is a fruity sweet scent. It´s a versatile, cozy and very inviting scent. Notes aside, the notes that I most pickup are the bergamot, the berries and a touch of pineapple. It can be worn in any season and this one really shines in the colder months because of that sweetness that the fragrance brings (not the bubblegum type of sweetness).

Compliments, Longevity, and Projection

Finally, we reach the most important question. Does this fragrance pullout compliments? Well, yes it does! Of course, we can´t please everybody, but the first time I wore Montblanc individuel, I went to a dinner party with my friends and got an instant 3 really good compliments when giving a left/right kiss to 3 different girls! At the time, I bought myself a 75ml and every time I wore in the winter months, I was amazed at how much pleasing everyone was with me wearing this one!
In terms of longevity, this is where this fragrance lacks. On my skin, this one lasts about 3/4 hours with 5 sprays. For me, a fragrance must be durable and I felt really sad when I found out that this one doesn’t last much because it´s such a pleasant scent. It´s a shame.
In the projection department, it´s not great either. The fragrance sits really close to the skin, so in order to get compliments, you will need to be close to the people, making this fragrance more effective in indoor situations.
Note: I didn’t mention more complicated topics since this review is meant for the inexperienced/novice guy!
